I have also started work on a pair of portraits for my portfolio. The first of that pair that I managed to draw up was the new Joker as played by Jared Leto.

Here are some progress shots and the final scanned in image.

I will be starting the second part of that pair soon. So keep your eyes on www.facebook.com/thingsidoodle

Recent Work: Tony Stark / Iron Man

So recently I have been adding to my portfolio of pencil work. These will be sold as prints at comic and craft fairs. My most recent portrait has been of the man, the legend....Tony Stark.

I found this one difficult to start with. Trying to get all the shades right on the Iron Man suit took time and patience but I think I pulled it off. What do you think??

The Shakewell Tarts

I previously done a portrait of The Shakewell Tarts for a side show themed night ran by Monster-A-GoGo. They loved the work so much they asked me to design them something that they could have as a tattoo. At first my sketches where small, but when I was told how large I could go I let loose.

This is the result of a good 2 months procrastination and determination.

Work in Progress Pinkie Pie Commission

Here is a little insight into my work in progress. This is a commission piece for a competition winner. He requested his elephant Trumpette enjoying cake with her favourite My Little Pony Pinkie Pie. Almost there with the colouring then I can get it printed off and posted.

Initial Pencil Sketch.

Initial Inks added and ready to be scanned in.

Scanned in and coloured. A few tweaks needed, but almost there.
More of this sort of thing, as well as the final result, can be found on my facebook page.

The Old Lie - Dulce et Decorum Est

One piece I have taken my time with in the last few weeks has been this war photography inspired piece. The words of Wilfred Owen came to mind when I began working on it and have now made their way into the final piece of art.

It has now been mounted and is available for £30. It is A4 in size and was drawn using h3 and b5 pencils. So if anyone in interested in buying this original please email mikmcdade@gmail.com and we'll sort something out. Its currently unframed but can be framed up before it gets posted to you.

Last work of the year (Part 1)

This here is an original piece of work commission by a very close friend on the arrival of their first child.

Then they messed it all up and had another. So I had to add to the original piece. It took a month of procrastination and putting it off until I realised. Hold on! I draw stuff. Why not redraw it instead.

So I did :)

( I also secretly packed the original and an original sketch in the back for posterity ;) )
