Roxy Stardust Website artwork

Here are three pieces of artwork I was commissioned to do for the website of Burlesque Performer Roxy Stardust. Two more pieces are in the process of being completed.

Each piece represents one of the routines/costumes created by Roxy Stardust including the now (in)famous Darth Stardust.

Remember to visit www.RoxyStardust.co.uk to see how they fit in with the site.

Work in Progress Pinkie Pie Commission

Here is a little insight into my work in progress. This is a commission piece for a competition winner. He requested his elephant Trumpette enjoying cake with her favourite My Little Pony Pinkie Pie. Almost there with the colouring then I can get it printed off and posted.

Initial Pencil Sketch.

Initial Inks added and ready to be scanned in.

Scanned in and coloured. A few tweaks needed, but almost there.
More of this sort of thing, as well as the final result, can be found on my facebook page.

The Old Lie - Dulce et Decorum Est

One piece I have taken my time with in the last few weeks has been this war photography inspired piece. The words of Wilfred Owen came to mind when I began working on it and have now made their way into the final piece of art.

It has now been mounted and is available for £30. It is A4 in size and was drawn using h3 and b5 pencils. So if anyone in interested in buying this original please email mikmcdade@gmail.com and we'll sort something out. Its currently unframed but can be framed up before it gets posted to you.

8 bit Band Artwork - Heralds of Galactus

A little while ago I created a logo for a band called Heralds of Galactus. As the name may suggest they are a little geeky. So when they came to me asking for some artistic help in creating a flyer my mind went into over drive. They are huge gaming fans, so much so that the lead singer carries a nintendo blaster with him when he is onstage...I know awesome right??

Well this is what I came up with for them.

They loved it and we ended up running with the 8 bit idea and the resulting flyer looked pretty swish...If you ask me :)

If you are interested in hearing what these guys sound like pop over to their Facebook page and follow the links to everything they have online (which includes radio show appearances and live acoustic versions).
