The year so far....

This year so far has been a pretty productive year for me. On top off everything else I have managed to push my skills as an artist beyond cartoon work.

Fortunately by taking my skills and pushing myself a bit further I have ended up with a small (and growing) portfolio of pencil art. This will be getting larger with the 3 pencil commissions I am currently working on.

I haven't enjoyed art this much for a while and I am glad I have found that joy for drawing I had before.

If you are interested in purchasing any of my originals or prints of these originals get in touch via fb.com/thingsidoodle or mikmcdade@gmail.com

Charlie Cox pencil portrait

Over a few weeks I worked on this guy and here are all the progress shots and the complete drawing.

I've been so busy with work and commissions that I completely forgot to post these.

More to come of my next portrait. Keep an eye on www.facebook.com/thingsidoodle for work in progress shots.

Its been a while...

Hardly posted much the last wee while. This was due to working hard on a project or two I couldn't share until now.

First up is this work in progress photo set of a David Tennant piece I was working on. Really pleased with the results of this one.

A Wedding Present

My little sister got married a little while ago and I have been drawing and redrawing this to get it right for her.
It features a pair of wedding bands entwined with ribbon. The claddagh at the bottom was changed to symbolise the pair of them. The boxing glove represents the groom who is a boxer while the feminine hand is to represent the bride.

If you are looking for something like this or something similar to anything I have featured in my commissions folder on facebook get in touch :)

Go add my facebook page and have a look at the commissions folder to see what else I can do for you.

Monster-A-GoGo - Bmovies and Bombshells (Part 2)

So I have been really busy this time. The Bmovies and Bombshells night last year was a success and this year it seems that Monster-A-GoGo are trying to outdo themselves. In their efforts to do so I have upped my own game to give the most I can visually.

Having a thing for some of the classic Bmovies I decided to pull from the vast array of movie posters out there. You saw the one I based on the Piranha movie that I posted earlier in the week in my first Bmovies and Bombshells post.

SO without further ado here is the next poster in the set (I am aiming to have between 4 or 5 final posters ;) ) . This one draws from the classic Ed Wood movie "Plan 9 From Outerspace". Hope you like it.

Also if you are interested in attending this event or any of the other Monster-A-GoGo events then hit up https://www.facebook.com/monsteragogoclub and keep yourself up to date.

You can also get tickets here: http://www.ticketsource.co.uk/agogoevents/events

Finally. If this isn't your thing, there are other events being run by the people that bring you Monster-A-GoGo. Head on over to A-GoGo Events Presents to see what else they are up to.
